Bright 7500 Cryostat, 110 V

The 7500 is a freestanding cryostat with a unique jet-spray, liquid decontamination system and a radial cutting microtome. It has been designed to cut a wide range of specimens and materials and is particularly effective for use in high biohazard risk laboratories where safe ventilation can be a problem. The instrument has been designed with a cabinet for storage and ample space inside the chamber for operators to move their hands without restriction.

7500 Cryostat Features:

  • Unique jet-spray, automatic liquid decontamination system
  • Incorporates a flat-cutting radial action microtome with retraction
  • Contoured top for operational comfort and usability
  • Suitable for research and clinical operation
  • Supplied with Magnacut disposable blade system but can use solid knives or the Lever Release FeatherT Blade Holder
  • Powered window
  • Motorized advance/rewind with audible limit alarms
  • Dual size, quick freeze embedding moulds to -55°C
  • Orientating head
  • Rapid, hot gas chamber defrosting
  • Heated window surround
  • Easy clean, scratch and solvent resistant, flame retardant surface finish
  • Digital electronic section thickness control with memory recall
  • Fast decontamination cycle with digital monitoring and alarm facility

The decontamination cycle can be initiated by the press of a button and lasts approximately 3.5 hours. The decontamination process is odorless and incorporates powerful jet sprays, which cover every part of the microtome and chamber with sterilizing and rinsing fluid. Once the process is finished the decontaminant is captured in a bottle, which can easily be sealed for safe disposal.

The 7000 microtome has a flat radial cutting action, which produces superb results. This action tends to reduce section compression and improve quality. The section thickness and advance/rewind controls have been placed externally for extra user comfort and convenience, which complement the ergonomic design, the clean lines and compact space-saving shape. Head adjustment can be achieved either manually or at the press of a button using the motorized advance/rewind system. Easy access in the spacious chamber allows rapid retrieval of the section and the knife holder will cope with a wide range of knives and disposable blade systems.

The -55 °C quick freeze moulds are extremely rapid and will avoid all possible ice crystal artifacts. In many cases it will eliminate the need for external freezing methods such as liquid CO2 or nitrogen.
