Accurate measurements from any electronic instrument are dependent on the instrument operating properly. Over time, any instrument can drift from its original adjustments that were made during manufacturing. The changes in the performance of the electronic subassemblies in A-M Systems instrumentation can result in inaccuracies in gain, filtering capabilities, offsets, timing changes, and overall noise performance.
For these reasons, it is critical that trained technicians recalibrate electronic instruments at regular intervals. A-M Systems currently recommends three-year service intervals at a minimum, with a two-year service cycle preferred. During the recalibration process, the instrument is inspected for any unexpected internal component wear, and all functionality is tested and brought back into compliance with the original design specifications.
